Tanya Graves fondly looks back at her years growing up in the Mack area of Detroit where she learned the true meaning of community. Both her family and her neighbors consistently led by example with their helping out, looking out, and reaching out to anyone who might be in need. For Tanya, the neighborhood is an extension of her family. Because of her upbringing, Tanya feels strongly about sharing the burdens of others. She may work at H&R Block during the day, but in the evening, Tanya freely fields any financial questions that might arise from her friends and family. She does this all out of the kindness of her heart, because she is a confident individual who knows that loving herself first will help her to share that same love with others. And according to Tanya, anybody can be somebody right where they came from. Especially in Detroit.
